On behalf of the men and women of the Embassy of the United States of America, I extend condolences to the people and Government of Sri Lanka on the passing of the Venerable Madhuluwawe Sobitha Thero. The late Thero was respected for his efforts to nurture and protect democracy, promote respect for people of all faiths, and improve the lives of all Sri Lankans.
