Message for U.S. Citizens: Road Closures around the U.S. Embassy in Colombo for Sri Lankan Independence Day Festivities

Location:  Colombo, Sri Lanka

Event:  Due to the Sri Lankan Independence Day preparations and festivities, the Government of Sri Lanka has announced that road closures will be in effect around the U.S. Embassy in Colombo, including along Galle Road, from Tuesday, January 30, until Saturday, February 3, between 6 AM and 8:30 AM daily for rehearsals, and from 2 PM on Saturday, February 3, until the conclusion of the ceremony on Sunday, February 4.  The U.S. Embassy will be open for regular Consular business all week; however, access to the U.S. Embassy might be restricted.
