“Many Sri Lankan youth are at the beginning of a journey that can open doors to a world of possibilities, and our U.S. State Department-supported EducationUSA Fair is here to help you along the way. U.S. universities are recognized worldwide for the quality of their programs, their faculty, and their facilities. The diversity of the American higher-education system is unparalleled. With over 4,000 nationally and regionally accredited universities in the United States, you can choose the type of academic institution that is right for you, from small liberal arts colleges to community colleges to large research universities,” said U.S. Ambassador Julie Chung. “I also encourage you to stay connected through our free EducationUSA Advising Center based in Colombo. Whether you are researching your options at our American Center, walking through the application process with an EducationUSA advisor, or enjoying the world-class instruction and facilities you will find on a U.S. campus, the United States is honored to support you on your road to success.”
This year’s EducationUSA Fair will provide an opportunity for students, parents, and school administrators to interact with admissions officers from participating U.S. colleges and universities to learn about academic programs, admission procedures, and scholarship and financial aid options. An EducationUSA advisor will also offer information on the programs and services that will help you with your application process to U.S. colleges and universities and Fulbright Commission staff will share information about Fulbright scholarships available for Sri Lankan citizens. U.S. Embassy consular officers will be on hand with information about student visas.
