The U.S. Embassy has received information regarding an ongoing protest in the Fort area. Police have deployed tear gas to disperse protesters and roads in the area are closed off. Please avoid the areas of demonstration and expect heavy police presence and traffic congestion.
We remind U.S. citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn violent. Please exercise caution if in the vicinity of any demonstrations; monitor media coverage of local events; and be aware of surroundings at all times.
