There are several large demonstrations taking place throughout Colombo: (1) a demonstration at Victoria Park has approximately 2500 participants, (2) a demonstration is underway at Lipton Circus with 500-600 participants, and (3) a demonstration near Galle Face Green with 2000 participants. Additional demonstrations are gathering around the city: currently they appear small, but protests can grow in size rapidly.
U.S. government personnel have been advised to avoid areas of large gatherings.

- Avoid the areas of rallies or demonstrations.
- Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
- Monitor local media for updates.
